Solutions · Start with the site condition
GRP access solutions for demanding site conditions.
Begin with the task, risk, obstruction, environment or failing access route. Vital GRP connects the condition to an appropriate system, technical evidence and a practical delivery route.
Two valid starting points
A defined brief—or an unresolved condition.
Some projects arrive with drawings and performance criteria. Others begin with photographs, an obstruction, a deteriorating structure or an access task that is becoming difficult. Both can be progressed when the known and missing information are made clear.
Translate an established brief into a coordinated GRP response.
Bring the drawings, dimensions, design criteria, programme and required deliverables. Vital GRP can review the system boundary, component interfaces, fabrication, evidence and practical route to site.
Begin with what is happening on site.
Share photographs, sketches, approximate dimensions and the operational problem. The first step is to identify the decisions, risks and information needed before a responsible solution can be developed.
Solution pathways
Find the challenge closest to your site.
Each route starts with the customer’s condition rather than a product name, then connects to the relevant system family, operating context, evidence and next action.

Reach the task safely.
Resolve how people approach, move between levels, work around plant and return safely from the access point.

Match the route to its exposure.
Consider the surrounding environment, maintenance burden and operational risks before selecting the material and configuration.

Turn the condition into a buildable scope.
Define the information, responsibility, fabrication and site-delivery route needed to progress with confidence.
Project stages
Bring the right decisions forward at every stage.
From the first site condition to handover, each stage should confirm the information, responsibility and evidence needed to keep the access system buildable.
Define the condition.
Clarify the task, risk, access failure, obstruction and operational outcome.
Confirm the inputs.
Record geometry, loads, supports, environment, users and programme.
Coordinate the system.
Resolve the arrangement, interfaces, product families and design responsibility.
Agree the evidence.
Confirm drawings, calculations, product data, approvals and fabrication scope.
Make it work on site.
Plan logistics, installation, inspection, records and future maintenance.
Solution evidence
Different sites require different responses.
These examples show how the surrounding asset, operating environment and access task shape the solution more than the material label alone.
Prepare the first review
Send enough information to expose the next decision.
A complete design is not required for first contact. The most useful starting information shows the task, geometry, environment and constraints clearly enough to identify what must be confirmed next.
Drawings or sketches
Plans, sections, marked-up PDFs or a clear hand sketch showing the intended route and interfaces.
Photographs
Wide context views and closer images of supports, obstructions, openings and approach conditions.
Dimensions and levels
Approximate sizes are useful initially; critical geometry can then be identified for confirmation.
Loads and users
Who will use the route, how often, carrying what equipment and under which operating conditions.
Environment and exposure
Water, chemicals, salt, temperature, electrical context, cleaning and contamination considerations.
Programme and site access
Shutdowns, working hours, lifting restrictions, delivery access and other installation constraints.
Connected onward routes
Move from the problem into the right part of the site.
The solution hub defines the condition. Products & Systems, Sectors, Projects and Resources then provide the system choice, operating context, evidence and technical support.

Solutions and project-start questions.
These answers explain how to begin when the project is defined, partly defined or still centred on an unresolved site condition.
Can Vital GRP help when the requirement is not fully defined?
Yes. Photographs, sketches, approximate dimensions and a description of the access problem can establish the first review. The missing information and next decisions can then be identified clearly.
When is a site survey needed?
A survey may be appropriate where geometry, supports, interfaces or installation access cannot be confirmed reliably from the available information. Its scope should match the project risk and responsibility.
Can Vital GRP provide design, fabrication and installation?
Vital GRP can support those stages where they form part of the agreed project scope. The required drawings, calculations, approvals, site activities and handover records should be defined at the outset. Meet our directly employed GRP installation teams →
Can an existing steel structure simply be copied in GRP?
Not responsibly. The duty, loading, span, connections, deflection criteria, environment and product properties should be reassessed for the replacement system.
Can solutions be developed for operational or restricted sites?
Yes, but access, sequencing, shutdowns, handling, temporary conditions and interfaces with live plant must be considered early and reflected in the agreed delivery plan.
What should I send for an initial technical review?
Send available drawings, photographs, dimensions, loads, support information, environmental conditions, access requirements and known programme or installation constraints.
