Who we are

Not simply a material supplier.

Vital GRP is a UK specialist in glass-reinforced plastic composite infrastructure. From our Essex base, we support clients who need durable, corrosion-resistant, low-maintenance and anti-slip access systems for demanding environments.

We help architects, contractors, asset owners, designers, procurement teams and facilities managers choose the right solution for the site, risk, span, load, environment and end user.

That means practical advice, clear specification support, dependable supply, accurate fabrication and a commercial approach shaped by how live projects actually run.

Our purpose

To make demanding access requirements safer, clearer and easier to deliver through properly specified and responsibly managed GRP systems.

Define

Understand the requirement

Clarify use, risk, site conditions, programme and information gaps.

Engineer

Coordinate the system

Resolve loading, geometry, supports, interfaces and buildability.

Make

Prepare accurately

Fabricate, identify and preassemble components where appropriate.

Deliver

Plan for the site

Coordinate logistics, installation, inspection and handover.

Regional knowledge. A complete delivery route.

GRP support in Colchester, Essex and Suffolk

From our Essex base, we help customers in Colchester, across Suffolk and throughout the UK define engineered GRP access requirements. Start with the task, exposure and existing structure, then coordinate the design, fabrication and delivery scope.

The Vital difference

Technical judgement connected to practical delivery.

Customers need more than a product description. They need clear decisions, traceable responsibility and a team that understands the consequences of loading, access, environment, programme and site interfaces.

Experienced GRP judgement

Product and project knowledge applied to the specific duty and environment.

Connected capability

Design support, fabrication, supply and installation aligned around one agreed scope.

Site-aware delivery

Buildability, access, sequencing and documentation considered before they become site problems.

Customer-led improvement

Voice of the Customer feedback converted into practical product, service and delivery changes.

This connected model gives clients one route for decisions and escalation while keeping technical boundaries visible. It also allows standard supply requirements to move quickly without treating a complex project as a simple product order.

Assurance and pre-qualification

Visible standards behind the delivery promise.

Whole-life performance matters.Service life, maintenance, installation, waste and end-of-life planning all affect the outcome.

Sustainability

Whole-life performance, not blanket claims.

Correctly selected GRP can reduce repainting, protective coating renewal, replacement cycles, maintenance visits and operational disruption. Vital GRP supports those benefits through accurate design, material optimisation, off-site fabrication and cut planning.

Long-life selection

Match the system to loading, environment, use and maintenance expectations.

Efficient preparation

Use modular design and accurate fabrication to reduce avoidable site work and waste.

Responsible recovery

Assess suitable offcuts and end-of-life GRP for reuse, recovery or recycling where practicable.

Environmental performance depends on the exact product, project design, transport, installation, maintenance and end-of-life route. We provide project-specific evidence where it is available and relevant to the proposed application.

Our background

A new business with established experience behind it.

Vital GRP was formed to build a more responsive, accountable and customer-focused GRP business for infrastructure and demanding built environments.

On 28 May 2025, Vital GRP acquired selected business assets and project records following the administration of Step on Safety Limited. This preserved useful product knowledge, project experience and customer continuity while allowing Vital GRP to establish its own standards, systems and direction.

Customers therefore retain continuity where it is useful, but deal with a business that is accountable for its own commitments. The acquisition is part of our background; the standards, service model and future direction belong to Vital GRP.

During its first year, the business completed more than 1,000 service-riser installations and supported projects across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Our commitment is straightforward: dependable GRP solutions, honest guidance and confident delivery from enquiry to handover.
